Hub Spot

The Jim and Helen Hubbell Charitable Foundation has contributed $200,000 to the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation to support Hub Spot, a new pavilion and plaza displaying public art that will be developed along the Principal Riverwalk. The grant will fund five large-scale sculptures by Jun Kaneko that will be installed in September 2012. The pieces, called Dangos, are ceramic ovular sculptures resembling vases without openings. The 7-foot-high Dangos will be covered in Kaneko’s signature geometric patterns.
