Main Attraction: The opportunity to sip and socialize in a spectacular setting is always the highlight of this springtime ladies’ night out event. Hosted at a different private home each year. The focus is friendship and philanthropy, and an opportunity to enjoy some sunshine and treats together after a long winter. This was the seventh year for Sweet Dreams and the Cownie’s art-filled home and gorgeous gardens provided the perfect venue.
Unique Touch: “I Have a Dream” participants staffed the check-in table, so attendees could meet some of the Dreamer students their donations were supporting.
Food: This event always gets compliments to the caterer, but in fact the delicious spread is provided by the Sweet Dreams Committee members themselves. All 20 women bring 50 pieces of a favorite recipe to share. There might be a 10th anniversary cookbook in the works!
Bottom Line: More than $38,000 was raised at the event, with a number of additional pledges coming in to help with a $225,000 anonymous matching gift.
