StageWest Theater Company will present “Bill W. and Dr. Bob,” the story of the two founders of Alcoholics Anonymous, 6-11 at the Des Moines Civic Center’s Stoner Theater. In 1929, famous New York stockbroker Bill Wilson crashes with the stock market, driving him to alcohol addiction. In Ohio, Dr. Bob Smith has been an alcoholic for 30 years, often performing surgeries with a hangover. Through a surprising series of events, the two men meet and help keep each other sober.
