The Greater Des Moines Music Coalition will celebrate supporters of the local music scene at its annual awards and fundraising event Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. The Backstage Ball at Lefty’s Live Music, 2307 University Ave., will include performances by Volcano Boys and MarKaus, as well as hors d’oeuvres, drinks and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit efforts to strengthen the music industry in Central Iowa. Tickets are $100 at Midwestix.com or at Mars Café.
