Bridging continental cuisines as well as the Des Moines River, the annual World Food & Music Festival returns downtown Sept. 16-18.

The World Food & Music Festival returns to the world Sept.16-18, with new events ramping up to the festival on the Court Avenue bridge.

As in years past, this 12th annual festival will feature cuisine from more than 20 countries and culinary regions. A list of vendors is available here.

Can’t wait? You don’t have to. The Des Moines Social Club has lined up a series of worldly food and music events this week, with international musicians and cuisine. Get details here.

On Thursday, the eve of the Festival, Historic East Village holds its annual BASH, a fundraiser for the upcoming holiday lights event. From 5 to 8 p.m. at the Iowa State Bar Association, enjoy live music, food and beverage samples while participating in live and silent auctions.
