Gatsby Gala

Nonprofit: Salisbury House Foundation

Date: Aug. 20, 2016

Venue: Salisbury House south terrace and lawn

Main Attraction: Salisbury House Foundation’s annual fundraiser pays homage to the prosperous twenties era in which Salisbury House was built. Guests enjoyed an evening of dancing to live music by The Max Wellman Quintet, an array of delectable food from local restaurants and caterers, speakeasy-approved libations, 1920s inspired fashion and haberdashery, plus a few surprises to assure a roaring good time!

Unique Touch: The evening also included a silent auction and games of croquet. Salisbury House had their 1933 Packard and 1932 Cadillac on hand for photo ops.

Food: Guests noshed on and array of items including lemongrass shrimp and salmon BLTs from Splash as they sipped Manhattans and Champagne Cocktails.

Bottom Line: Proceeds from the Gatsby Gala benefit the Salisbury House Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation dedicated to preserving, interpreting and sharing the international significance of Salisbury House & Gardens and its history and collections.
