Oktoberfest Sept. 27-28

It’s time to dig out your lederhosen—maybe even that hat—and celebrate the season of Oktoberfest.

Plenty of parties include beer. But only Oktoberfest makes beer the whole point—plus some costumes, a little polka music and plenty of laughter.

The annual street party returns this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 27 and 28, pouring along Fourth Street south of Court Avenue. Not coincidentally, that’s the home of the Germanic Hessen Haus. It’s also the home of dsm magazine, so we think of this as our own lawn party (if only we had a lawn).

Festivities run from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily. Admission will cost you $10. Get all the particulars here. Have fun (and play nice; we’re watching!).
