dsmmagazine is looking for an editor to manage the magazine’s branded “Spotlight” publications, including Home, Health, Inclusion, Lifting the Veil, the Party Book and ia, as well as write and edit for dsmand for our digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be a detail-driven, highly organized self-starter skilled at storytelling across platforms, collaborating with a team, and managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the editor of dsmmagazine.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate ideas for dsmand its related publications.
Report and write stories for dsm-branded magazines and digital platforms.
Manage the dsmSpotlight publications, including conceptualizing each product, generating ideas, making assignments, working with contributors throughout the story process, collaborating with photographers and designers, doing content and line editing, and managing budgeting and freelance invoices.
Cultivate and draw upon a network of community sources and contributors.
Understand digital platforms, including social media, and how to use them in ways that enhance the magazine’s mission and goals.
Ensure that the content produced meets company standards for quality and journalistic integrity.
Assist with writing and editing stories for dsmmagazine.
Attend dsm-sponsored community events.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience in journalism or a related communications field.
Exceptional writing and editing skills, including for social media and digital platforms.
An ability to multitask at a fast pace and meet overlapping deadlines.
Initiative and an energetic, proactive and creative approach to work.
Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage all details of a project efficiently and effectively.
An ability to collaborate and work effectively with a team.

An understanding of video storytelling.
