Nonprofit: Easter Seals Iowa
Date: Jan. 16, 2018
Venue: State Capitol
Main Attraction: Easter Seals Iowa leadership, team members and clients met with Iowa legislators at the annual Easter Seals Iowa Legislative Reception January 16 at the State Capitol to share about the importance of community-based services and independence for people with disabilities. Easter Seals Iowa also thanked legislators for their past support of Camp Sunnyside and the Rural Solutions program, which enables farmers who have acquired a disability to continue farming. Easter Seals Iowa provides exceptional services to ensure all people with disabilities or special needs, and their families, have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in our community.
Special Touch: Easter Seals Iowa served food to guests at the Legislative Reception that would be found on the Sunnyside Express food truck. Watch for our food truck (which teaches employment skills to people with disabilities) on the streets of Des Moines this spring.
