Q: How would you describe yourself?
A: Wesley Acres, in the historic Greenwood neighborhood in Des Moines, is one of WesleyLife’s 12 communities. WesleyLife celebrates its 75th anniversary this year — and our story began at Wesley Acres, so this campus marks 75 years as well! We’re delighted to feature six team members who represent different facets of service to our residents.
Q: How did you get started in your career?
A: Wesley Acres is home to 240 team members, and many members of our valued work family emigrated to the United States from other countries. Their experiences are varied, but they all have one thing in common — dedication to providing superior experiences for our residents, day after day.
Q: What do you love about your career?
A: We’re featuring six team members whose experiences are unique, but common to all of them are two things: their regard for the residents they serve, and appreciation of WesleyLife’s culture — one that enhances their sense of belonging and reinforces their importance as a critical part of our team.
Q: Who do you consider a mentor and why?
A: Wesley Acres promotes servant leadership, so it’s typical for any number of leaders to serve as mentors who strive to enhance the work experience for all team members. Leaders ask themselves, “How can I make the day better for those I work alongside?” That culture of service is key to everything we do here.
