Are you tired of trying to navigate the hottest new design trends only to watch them fizzle out before the paint dries? There’s an easy solution. Keep it timeless.
Timeless doesn’t mean stale. Instead, it’s decorating with your lifestyle and personality in mind. It’s choosing a look that can stay fresh while also outlasting today’s trends. It’s investing in pieces that can survive and support your family. If finding this design balance is outside of your skillset, turn to the designers at K. Renee Home.
A staple in West Des Moines for 25 years, K. Renee features a retail showroom that offers hands-on assistance in a stress-free, commission-free environment. Whether you buy a pillow or want to decorate an entire home, the designers at K. Renee want to get to know you. And they want to help you discover your own style.
“There needs to be a connection,” says interior designer Julie Carlson. “Understanding the client’s needs is the most important step. Every design project has a different expectation and a different budget. And we will always work on that. Their happiness is our ultimate goal.”
Filled with décor inspiration — from rugs and sofas to art and vases — the expansive showroom at K. Renee features timeless and comfortable furnishings designed to last. The showroom is an immersive experience of transitional styles and neutral colors that are just a sample of the hundreds of fabrics and myriad vendors the business has curated over the years. The retail space offers clients an opportunity to sit, touch, and figure out what they do and don’t like. Something online shopping can’t replicate.
“There needs to be a connection,” says interior designer Julie Carlson. “Understanding the client’s needs is the most important step. Every design project has a different expectation and a different budget. And we will always work on that. Their happiness is our ultimate goal.”
“That’s so important,” says Carlson. “Our clients value experiencing the sit and feel of furniture before making a decision.”
Designing at K. Renee is an exercise in teamwork, with each designer bringing their own expertise to the table on each and every project – solving layout issues, optimizing space, as well as creating something beautiful and functional. “There is no I in K. Renee,” adds Carlson.
Longtime client Miriam Erickson Brown, CEO of Anderson Erickson Dairy in Des Moines, has worked with the team at K. Renee on projects throughout her home. A recent bedroom refresh reminded Miriam why she’s always happy to hand it over to professionals.
“They bring in the cohesiveness,” says Miriam. “I’m [always] surprised at the way they can take my visions and translate [them] into a cohesive vision that really works – in a style that would endure. I’m really picky about where I’m going to spend my budget and I don’t want trend pieces. I want things that really endure.”
According to Julie Ross, K. Renee co-owner along with Kelli and Jeff Schulz, the secret to such a look – one that will outlive the flash of the latest-and-greatest — is by having an active hand in the process. “[It] allows you to gauge whether you react positively to [certain furnishings] and whether they are functional and/or comfortable,” she says. “Enduring style over time exudes confidence and sophistication yet is inviting.”
K. Renee invites you to come and see for yourself.
