On the cover: The people of Yamanashi, Japan, sent a 2,000-pound temple bell to Iowa in 1962 to thank farmers for the hogs and corn they delivered to Yamanashi after a devastating tsunami. Photographer Duane Tinkey recently shot the bell in its shelter near the Iowa Judicial Branch Building, south of the Iowa Capitol. Read more here.
