Q: Tell us about your business.
A: Broadlawns Medical Center (BMC) is a community “safety net hospital” that is owned by the people of Polk County. We provide an acute care hospital, emergency services, inpatient and outpatient services, lab and radiology services, mental health services, specialty clinics, dentistry and a 24-hour crisis team.
Q: What makes your business special?
A: Founded in 1924, BMC is celebrating A Century of Caring this year. While we accept most major insurance plans, our principal role is to provide care for uninsured and underinsured individuals, as well as medical education.
Q: How does your business contribute to the community?
A: BMC focuses on community wellness and access to high-quality, affordable care for every individual who enters through our doors. With a strong focus on our local community, our organization also positively impacts health care throughout the state of Iowa. Broadlawns-trained providers are actively practicing in 60 counties in Iowa, and in the last year, we have provided care for Iowans from more than 70 counties in Iowa.

A: The compassion and dedication of our employees and providers in every part of our organization is a real inspiration. Working in health care allows you to nurture your desire to help others while earning a living.
