Local Love: Amber Wallingford and Victoria Dentler

Amber Wallingford and Victoria Dentler celebrated their love all around the East Village during their wedding day Nov. 11. Amber called it “a love letter to an important location in our lives.”

The couple took first-look photos at Locust Tap, then moved over a few blocks for cocktails and wedding-party photos at Peace Tree Brewing. The ceremony and reception took place at Curate, complete with performances from a few local drag queens. “The first item we agreed on while wedding planning was we absolutely must have a drag show,” Amber said.

Amber surprised Victoria by hiring local musician Sara Routh to play their favorite song live for their first dance. “Sara was incredible and helped create a beautiful moment. My wife looked stunning dancing in their dress,” Amber said.

“My favorite part of the day was getting to share my love of Amber with everyone I care about,” Victoria said. “Since we fell in love during the pandemic, we didn’t have as many opportunities to meet each other’s vast network. Getting to see my wife mingle with my extended family and dance with my sorority sisters healed a part of my soul.”

The newlyweds and their squad kept the party going well after the official stuff with an afterparty at the Garden.
