The Gift of Giving

Once again, dsm (November/December 2014) exceeded everyone’s expectations. What really struck a chord with me were the stories in “They Came, They Saw, They Gave.” I had just read about the Stevens family’s Joppa Outreach, and I learned that our office was collecting socks for Joppa as part of our holiday outreach.

What Joe and Jacki (Stevens) have accomplished is amazing, but what they are teaching their son is a gift for a lifetime. I love Joe’s quote, “There are two kinds of people in life—people who watch things happen and people who make things happen,” and that he “wanted to show (Caleb, his son) that a few people can really make things happen.” What a life lesson!

Cover Kudos

(The cover) is wonderful. Two great guys (photographer Ben Easter and model Eric Brockob) and one amazing publication.

Welcome to Des Moines

Thank you to everyone at dsm who helped with the “Selfie-Portrait” article in the September/October issue. It was a great way to be welcomed to Des Moines for me, and I am honored to have been included.

Sages Over 70

Thank you for a lovely experience as a Sage over 70. You all made this (the Sages Over 70 event) a very special and fun occasion. You must receive this comment often, but I will share it with you: You do things with such aplomb, such classiness, such impeccable professionalism. It is a joy to be a part of your work.

Inspiring People

Just reading the new (November/December) dsm … relishing, actually, devouring it! Love Sages (Over 70); wishing I knew Lisa Kruidenier and Clemen Wilcox.
