30,662 volunteer hours worked annually at Food Bank of Iowa.
Mission
Provide food for Iowa children, families, seniors and veterans to lead full and active lives, strengthening the communities where they live.
Key Services Provided
Food Bank of Iowa sources free and reduced-cost food, keeps it safe, and delivers it to 700 partners in 55 counties. We stock the shelves of 200 agencies in Polk County alone, including pantries, school pantries, meal sites, daycares, shelters and rehab facilities. Our vision is a hunger-free Iowa.
Key Audiences Served
Food Bank of Iowa serves hardworking Iowans, kids, seniors living on fixed incomes, persons with disabilities and veterans who bravely served. More than 300,000 Iowans face food insecurity; one-third are children. Record numbers are seeking food assistance, including some families who have never before visited a food pantry.
