Catering By Cyd

Zoey Chumbley

Q: What do you love about your career?
A: No day is identical! Our team never takes a cookie-cutter approach — each catering event is as unique as each of our clients. It’s also gratifying to keep up with what’s new and exciting on the food and serving scene to ensure our food and presentation remain fresh, surprising and fun.

Q: What are the personal values that drive you?
A: Honesty, empathy, curiosity and attention to detail! Organizing events can be stressful for clients. We relieve the stress by casting a vision that they love and bringing that vision to life. It’s so gratifying to deliver on that vision and see the client’s face light up with approval and astonishment.

Q: Who inspired you along the way and why?
A: Chef Cyd inspires me with her talent and her giving heart. She’s grateful for every customer, continually working to exceed their expectations. She donates often and loves to support local schools and businesses. She cares deeply about her staff and always checks in on my own life, future and goals.

Q: What advice would you give to others starting in your industry?
A: You must have a serving heart — a genuine drive to bring joy to every event. Flexibility and creativity are crucial to meet diverse client requirements. An eye for detail is key, as each dish is crafted as delicious art. Thinking on your feet is also essential in this dynamic field.
