Q: Tell us about your business.
A: The Iowa Wild, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, aims to provide Iowa with affordable, exciting and family-oriented entertainment while strengthening the community and developing hockey in Iowa. We off er affordable and exciting entertainment to fans while providing first-class partnerships and hospitality to local businesses throughout Central Iowa.

Q: What makes your business special?
A: For more than six months throughout a calendar year, our staff collectively works tirelessly 5, 6 and sometimes 7 days a week to put together first-class entertainment at our arena while giving back to fans and residents of Greater Des Moines as a community partner.

Q: How does your business contribute to the community?
A: The Wild are committed to promoting and growing the game of hockey in Iowa, particularly among youth, with programs such as Junior Crash Course, which provides 100 kids free hockey equipment and lessons to learn how to skate and participate in the game of hockey. In addition, the Iowa Wild has helped install 12 community ice rinks in towns around the metro area. They’re free to use and are open throughout the winter months.

Q: What is unique or noteworthy about your team?
A: The Iowa Wild are completing our 12th hockey season in Central Iowa. Previously, we were the Houston Aeros before being purchased by the Minnesota Wild and relocating to Des Moines in the spring of 2013.
