Our very own dsm program director Alex Kelly and Claire Riggan tied the knot on Oct. 5, 2024. The couple shared a small, whimsical ceremony at a secluded vacation home in Woodland Park, Colorado. Alex was born in Colorado and both women always wanted to get married in the mountains.
“We wanted it to be intimate and feel like a party in the middle of nature,” Alex said.
The ceremony involved close family and friends, many of whom stayed on site. “Both bridal parties stayed at the house the whole week leading up to the wedding, so we got to spend a lot of quality time all hanging out together, hiking, putting things together for the wedding and just having fun,” Alex said.
Claire’s cousins brought their musical instruments and played during the procession, and a friend of the couple presided over the ceremony.
A month later, the couple hosted a large reception for their extended families and friends at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.
