Q: What do you love most about Greater Des Moines?
A: Des Moines is a great city with a strong economy and is also very family friendly. There are also some great public-school options.

Q: How did you get started in your career?
A: When I came to the country for school back in the early 2000s, all of my part-time jobs were in restaurants. I was trained under a very famous sushi chef in Manhattan, New York and found love in this industry.

Q: What do you love about your career?
A: Working in a restaurant teaches me the skills that are essential to life, such as tolerance, patience, multitasking and bringing smiles to our guests’ faces.

Q: Who do you consider a mentor and why?
A: My father is my mentor. My father taught me to honor my instincts, pursue my desires, believe in my potential and stay true to my passions. Most importantly, he taught me to trust myself especially when others did not.
