Q: What do you love most about Greater Des Moines?
A: All: It is the people. You go to other parts of the country, and you realize that Iowa has the best people. Des Moines is a small town with a big city atmosphere. Between concerts and sporting events at Wells Fargo Arena, Adventure Land, local fine dining and food festivals, we have it all.
Q: Who do you consider a mentor and why?
A: Roger: I have worked for Dan Boettcher for close to 30 years. Most of what I have is because of Dan. He has taught me a lot personally and professionally.
Q: What do you each love about your career?
A: Jerry & Beau: You spend enough time with co-workers that you become close friends. You also get to work with and meet people from different walks of life. We have a family atmosphere at our dealership. Our customers sometimes stop in or just call to chat. We enjoy working in the car industry because of this.
Q: What are some guiding principles you’ve used in your career?
A: Roger: Always put yourself in the other person’s shoes and try to see it from their perspective. Did we do the right thing, or do we need to do the right thing?
Q: What is a fact about yourself others may not know?
A: Roger: I value experiences more than possessions.
Jerry: I enjoy vacationing with my family in the mountains.
Beau: I enjoy hunting, fishing and camping.
