Q: What do you love most about Greater Des Moines?
A: Its emergence as a well-rounded metro area offers opportunities for all Iowans. From career choices to recreation and entertainment options, there is little reason to look outside of central Iowa.

Q: How did you get started in your career?
A: We are a family-owned business. My father founded Stivers of Iowa along with his partner, Ed Stivers Jr, in 1980. After “doing my own thing” for a while, I explored the car business and found it very challenging and rewarding.

Q: What do you love about your career?
A: Every day is something different, even after 31 years in the business. Our dealership departments of sales, service, parts, maintenance and collision services all present unique daily areas of opportunity to get better at what we do.

Q: What are some guiding principles you’ve used in your career?
A: We treat our staff like family because we know that will encourage them to treat our customers like family. The personal touch is what impresses staff and customers.

Q: Who do you consider a mentor and why?
A: My father Don Politte and his/my partner Ed Stivers Jr. Their wealth of experience has taught me calm consistency in the face of adversity.
