Mission
Goodwill’s mission is to make purposeful employment possible for all individuals in Central Iowa through inspiring confidence, strengthening abilities, and redefining inclusion in the workplace.
Key Services Provided
Services prepare individuals to obtain and retain work. Industry-specific skills training programs provide classroom and paid hands-on experience to prepare for employment. Supported employment programs connect individuals to purposeful work and support them in their new role. Day Habilitation programs provide opportunities for individuals with diagnosed disabilities to build community.
Key Audiences Served
Central Iowans with barriers to employment. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals with diagnosed intellectual or physical disabilities, mental illness, homelessness, low income, lack of transportation or lack of previous work experience.
Ways to Give
- Donate gently used items to Goodwill stores
- Donate funds to directly support mission programs
- Shop at Goodwill stores
- Partner to provide job experience opportunities to Goodwill program participants
- Hire Goodwill training program graduates
