46,127 individuals in Central Iowa helped in 2021.
$145,229 was given in 2021 to help families with rent, utilities, gas and more.
1,768 children received toys through our Christmas toy and joy land.


Since 1865, The Salvation Army’s mission has been to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Key Services Provided

We offer a home goods pantry and two food pantries, a mobile food ministry and financial assistance year-round.At Christmas, we provide food and thousands of toys. Our Emergency Disaster Services canteen assists first responders and victims during times of need, a fire or other disaster. Our new Mobile Social Service Center assists suburban and rural areas of Central Iowa with financial assistance, food, hygiene products, home goods, and spiritual support, allowing The Salvation Army to reach individuals and families struggling to receive support & much needed assistance.
