Des Moines Metro Opera hosted their 50th anniversary Golden Gala Celebration June 11. The soiree began with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres by Allora Cafe at Krause Gateway Center, followed by a multicourse dinner by the Embassy Club and chef Michael LaValle. DMMO’s mainstage artists provided the entertainment. After dinner, the festivities continued on the dance floor with the Diamond Empire Band, which was joined by opera singer John Holiday for a few special musical selections.
