Q: Tell us about your business.
A: Owner George Migliero is a renowned chef who came to Des Moines from Boston. He was executive chef at Wakonda Club for 18 years before opening G. Mig’s Fifth Street Pub. We have better-than bar food and great daily specials.

Q: What makes your business special?
A: We are located at 128 Fifth St. in Historic Valley Junction. Being able to be part of the historic district, and the social center of many events (including the Farmer’s Market and Jingle in the Junction) to provide great food and drinks to the community is something we cherish.

Q: How does your business contribute to the community?
A: VFW 8879 owns the building, so teaming up with them to provide meals and events for the community is very satisfying. We also have events where we can serve the VFW members and help them raise money for the post throughout the year.

Q: What is unique or noteworthy about your team?
A: We have been in business for almost 13 years, and we still have many employees who have worked with us from the start. Having a place where employees enjoy working and letting them raise their families in our community is very fun and exciting.
