Since 1993, Tero International has earned a reputation as a premier corporate training company. Professionals from around the world turn to Tero to hone their interpersonal skills. Those skills are more important than ever, explains Alison Haider, Tero’s chief learning officer.
“We’re living in the age of artifi cial intelligence,” Haider says. “From content generation to customer service bots to data-driven decision-making, AI is rewriting what’s possible. Yet, as AI accelerates, something essential hasn’t changed: people still matter.”
AI can process. It can optimize. It can replicate patterns. “But,” Haider emphasizes, “AI can’t empathize. It can’t build trust. It can’t lead with heart. People don’t crave automation. They crave authentic connection.”
While we’re more connected than ever through social media, texts and emails, real connection is harder to achieve. In a world dominated by screens, Haider notes, interpersonal skills are declining.
“Professionals today may be fluent in technology, but many are underdeveloped in the interpersonal skills that drive collaboration, leadership and trust,” Haider says.
Those skills, however, are within our reach and are exactly what Tero trains professionals to utilize in their leadership. “Choose to engage. Choose to listen. Choose to connect in person,” Haider advises. “In a fast-moving world, slow down and look someone in the eye. It might be the most important thing you do.”
