Ghoulish Merriment Awaits

Who knows what may creep from the fog of an autumn evening? Especially on the spooky night of the first-ever Ghoulish Gala.

If costumes are your kind of fun, this is your kind of event. The Ghoulish Gala, the ultimate Halloween party, plays out in the shadows of stately Salisbury House on Oct. 19.

It’s a macabre benefit for the Salisbury House Foundation, with a dark and deadly elegance. Guests will arrive in the Great Hall, crossing a smoky red carpet into a realm where skulking may be a dance step. A cocktail hour begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner in the moody Common Room, then dancing.

“The ambiance of the historic house is the perfect fit for such a unique event,” says Kit Curran, executive director of Salisbury House and Gardens. “As we continue to expand our programming, we are excited to offer this new experience unlike any other Halloween event in Des Moines.”

Tickets are $175 and include the cocktail hour, dinner and hosted bar with party. This event has a limited number of tickets so reservations are required by this Friday, Oct. 11. Get tickets at salisburyhouse.org or by calling 515-274-1777.
