The Des Moines Art Center celebrates its 75th anniversary with a community lawn party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday. The free event commemorates a similar gathering when the center opened, back in 1948.
At the event, guests can enjoy art activities, ceramics demonstrations, old-fashioned games and live music from the Midnight Madness Quartet and Girls Rock! Des Moines. Food will be available for purchase from on-site food trucks Hey Schweetie, Lachele’s Fine Foods, the Outside Scoop and the Traveling Bean.
