The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa hosted its 60th Anniversary Gala on Nov. 17 at Drake University’s Knapp Center. More than 500 guests gathered to celebrate the clubs’ six decades of making a positive impact on the lives of Des Moines kids and teens. The evening’s record-breaking fundraising efforts raised nearly $5 million, including a surprise $4 million boost from Suzie Glazer Burt, a BGCCI trustee and gala co-chair. She dedicated the contribution to her late sister, Ellie Glazer Ziegler, a longtime supporter of the clubs’ work.
